Late one night a couple of years ago, Wasabi owner Nhan Le poured sake for a group of lingering regulars. The Castleberry Hill sushi bar owner was in a talkative mood, and the conversation turned to dreams. Le explained that his ambition was to open an intown place where he could cook his native Vietnamese cuisine. Le wasn’t interested in anything fancy or hyperauthentic – just a small place serving pho and a handful of other dishes.

That dream is now a reality. When So Ba (560 Gresham Ave. 404-627-9911 soba-eav.com) opened, many East Atlanta Villagers made it an instant regular hangout, just as Castleberry Hill residents had embraced Wasabi. Continue Reading The Article »

We have quite a few Com dishes, two of which are extra special.

One comes with a pork chop, shredded pork, steamed omelet and a sunny side up egg.

The other is our Com Bo Luc Lac, that comes with marinated cubed filet mingnon. If steak is your thing, this dish is going to make your mouth water.

This rice dish really lights up when you mix in some chili sauce, the fish sauce, and maybe even some sriracha. Don’t be scared of the heat.

Our Bun is served on a bed of fresh lettuce, cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, bean sprouts, seasonal herbs and crushed peanuts with sweetened fish sauce.

If you are looking for a healthy hearty meal, Bun is it.

We offer several different styles of Bun including our Hue style spicy noodle soup with beef and pork.

You can get it with grilled pork, chicken, or shrimp as well.

One of our favorite dishes is the Tom Thit Nurong Cha Gio, a dish with charbroiled marinated shrimp, pork, and an egg roll. Add some chili sauce to your fish sauce and pour it all over and this dish will make your night.

We also offer this dish with tofu or vegetables if that is more your style.

Come in and try any of our Bun dishes, we are sure you will like it.

(Not sure how to pronounce Pho? Here’s a passionate explanation from a Pho enthusiast… even has some great audio.)

“Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup, usually served with beef (pho bo) or chicken (pho ga). The soup includes noodles made from rice and is often served with basil, lime, bean sprouts, and peppers that are added to the soup by the consumer.” – WikiPedia

We make our Pho from fresh ingredients, some of which are grown right here on our property. If you check out our Menu, you will see all of the different options available.

The noodles are cooked and often seasoned using fish sauce. Then the dish is garnished with fresh herbs, cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, limes, peppers and other delicious addons.

Pho is especially great when the weather is cool. A hot tasty bowl of Pho with your favorite meet or just veggies, mix in a little chili pepper to give it some heat and you will be on your way to happiness.

That is not to discount it being great for warm weather as well. Come in and try it out for yourself, it’s never too late for a new favorite food.

Pho King Challenge!

$25 gets you one massive bowl of Pho.

Free if you finish + $50 So Ba gift certificate.

Can you handle the challenge?
